“Hope and Change” and its attack on liberty and freedom

Obama 2008The headline from the Labor Department statistics report for October read, “UNEMPLOYMENT REACHES 10.2%”

It’s understandable if the number is difficult to understand – 10.2%.   It’s the highest unemployment level since 1983.   Worse yet, economists predict the number will go higher.

Not even the master orator, the architect of the Hope and Change government, President Barack Obama, could put a positive spin on 10.2%.   He responded by calling the alarming unemployment figures “regrettable.”

It’s time for the Hope and Change government to explain the massive unemployment.  It’s their economy.   They’ve had their big government arms in it, elbow deep, for nearly a year.   No longer can they “blame Bush.”

And let’s not forget.  It was the Hope and Change government that said the stimulus was necessary to keep unemployment at 8%.

The Hope and Change government knows it’s their economy.  They attempted to tout stimulus success on their web site, “Recovery.gov.”  The web site boasts that the stimulus is responsible for creating or saving 640,329 jobs.   Vice President Biden reinforced the figures.

Not 640,328.  Not 640,330.  It’s 640,329.  Who says big government isn’t precise?

Big problem though.  The Hope and Change government numbers are wrong.

Investigations found that a significant number of these “jobs” come from hundreds of US precincts that do not exist.  Further, there are examples of jobs supposedly created or saved based on pay raises given to employees.  Forget there isn’t a measurement to determine a “saved” job, the Hope and Change government didn’t rescue them –the jobs weren’t going anywhere.

So did the Hope and Change government (a) allow erroneous information to be posted or (b) is not capable of gathering and analyzing statistics?

Either way, the Hope and Change government is wrong.

I’ve noticed a pattern over the past 11 months.  The Hope and Change government is often wrong.  They were wrong about unemployment.  Wrong when they promised the stimulus would keep unemployment at 8%.   Wrong about when the economy would recover.

And certainly Vice President Biden was wrong when he said, “We have to go spend money to keep from going bankrupt.” Mr. Vice President, Household bookkeeping “101” says otherwise.  Spending beyond one’s means puts you in bankruptcy.  It doesn’t save you from it.

But bad news offers opportunity.

In light of the increasingly dire economic news, with all the evidence pointing to the failures of big government, President Obama could have made one of his eloquent speeches and called for pause.

Take a step back and recalibrate.  Evaluate whether the Hope and Change big government policies were helping, or hurting, the economy.   Determine whether rising unemployment and continued dismal economic news is an indication big government doesn’t solve economic woes, but exacerbates them.   The trends certainly suggest big government doesn’t resuscitate an economy – it stifles recovery.

Take a breather, Mr. President. The conditions scream for it.

But President Obama presses on.  In the midst of more bad economic news his Hope and Change government rams more down the throats of the taxpayer when the taxpayer has nothing more to give.

Stimulus.  The talk of Stimulus II.  Government-controlled health care.   Cap and Trade.  One costly program followed by the next.   Each will grow a greater government.  All under the disguise of “Hope and Change.”

That is the agenda – greater government.

“Hope and Change.”  Sounds wonderful, doesn’t it?   What rational person would oppose the change that would unlock the door to all our hopes and dreams?  But this is precisely how government operates, especially this one.  Profess pleasing proclamations to hide true motives.

And the Hope and Change government has played its hand.  That is, grow greater government regardless of the repercussions.  Make more Americans beholden to the big government of Hope and Change.

The Hope and Change government will push forward its programs that will saddle the American people whose backs are already breaking under the weight of big government.   The Hope and Change government will tell you it is necessary for “fairness” when the aim is to gain greater government control.

With health care, the Hope and Change government will command almost 50% of the private sector, dismantling, piece by piece, the free market system on which our economy was build it.  The Hope and Change government seeks the new day of wealth redistribution, not reward through personal initiative and drive.

The Hope and Change government isn’t bothered by hideous deficits.  The costs to you and to future generations mean nothing as long as government grows.   It matters little if greater government reaches deeper into your daily lives – controlling more while offering less.

Greater government, the Hope and Change government, is an attack on liberty and freedom.  They cannot coexist.  They are incompatible.

It’s happening before our eyes, right now, in Washington, as they debate this deplorable government-run health care bill.   They do it knowing it will cost us more even as many of us can’t find jobs.   It is a Hope and Change government production that will, as written, provide taxpayer funds for abortion and result in your arrest if you do not participate.

Does your arrest sound like “hope” to you?

My hope – that there are sufficient Senators with the courage to stand with the American people and not the Hope and Change government that seeks to further erode our liberty and freedom.

Preserving my right to make my own decisions, preserving my liberty and that of my family – it is the only hope I have.

It is a hope being taken from me under the mask of Hope and Change.

God Bless our troops in harm’s way.

    ATTENTION, ATTENTION, ATTENTION, Federal Civil Servents, Reiree's, and others;
Take a look at ‘SEC. 4980I. EXCISE TAX ON HIGH COST EMPLOYER-SPONSORED HEALTH COVERAGE.
‘‘(a) IMPOSITION OF TAX. If an employee is covered under any applicable employer-sponsored coverage of an employer at
any time during a taxable period, and there is any excess benefit with respect to the coverage, there is hereby imposed a tax equal to 40 percent of the 10 excess benefit."
If Congress passes this healthcare bill, your cost will go up 40%.
You had better read that bill and see what Congress is really doing.

NOTICE the words 'excess benefits'. What does that mean?
It means if YOUR heathcare is any better than the "public option", then you will be taxed on the difference. That is, you will be punished for having better healthcare.
